DIY Porch Decoration for the Holidays
- Hits: 479
If you’re looking for a quick, fun project to add some holiday décor to your porch or front door, I suggest making your own planters or hanging baskets! They’re easy to make and will definitely save you cash-I saw some similar to the ones I just made, yet smaller, for $50 at the hardware store. You will likely have most of the materials already, but if not, it should only set you back a few bucks. I lucked out as we needed to trim our pine tree in the front yard, but I also love cedar, so I grabbed some cedar bows from the hardware store. But you can use whatever evergreen you like!
I used some floral foam for my tall “planter” as I didn’t want to fill it with dirt, and I also made a hanging basket, which was left over from summer and still filled with dirt-perfect for holding your branches and decorations in place. (Floral foam is such handy stuff-I purchased mine for cheap on Amazon.)
I scrolled through Pinterest for some inspiration and then got to it. After I arranged the branches and bows how I wanted, I added a few pinecones, some decorations from the dollar store for a little sparkle, and soft, twinkling lights. I love how they turned out! What do you think?
